All surfaces are thoroughly cleaned in between appointments and all linens and towels changed and washed at high temperatures so that they are fresh for each client. Therapists adhere to current PPE and hand washing guidelines. Clients are asked to wash their hands on arrival. Please ask to see our Covid-19 policy for more details.
If you feel unwell for any reason at all, please let your therapist know as soon as possible and look after yourself at home. We will be delighted to book you back in when you have recovered.
Your therapist will take a full medical history from you so as to tailor a treatment to your unique, individual needs. You can expect to be treated with dignity and respect, and for your information to be treated in total confidence. Your modesty will always be preserved and your comfort will be paramount.
Before your appointment, a full and confidential consultation will take place. This is an opportunity for you to get to know your therapist, discuss your reasons for wanting therapy, the options open to you, and for you to ask questions. Your medical information is vital in checking that therapy is safe and appropriate for you and is always kept secure. This is also your safe space, to be listened to and understood.
You may already know which therapy you would like to receive; however you may be offered a blend of different therapies if your therapist feels it would be beneficial to you. As long as there are no medical reasons against it, the final choice will always be yours.
Your therapist will ask you during the consultation if there are areas of your body that you prefer are not touched. You will never be touched anywhere you have not consented to.
Therapy rooms are deep cleaned regularly and also cleaned between clients, following a detailed risk assessment and cleaning schedule. Therapists are trained in infection prevention and control and are licensed and inspected by the local environmental health officer, who also licenses and inspects the premises. Certificates of qualification and licensing are on display. Therapists will use PPE during treatment, adhere to cleaning and handwashing guidance, use cleaned and sterilised equipment and single use needles.
All clients are thoroughly screened before blemish removal treatment to ensure safety. If you feel generally anxious or have a health condition that makes you more susceptible to infection, please ask to be seen as a first appointment of the day and do make contact so that we know how best to help.
If your reason for wanting therapy includes an injury or a muscular skeletal issue such as back pain, you may need a postural assessment and some assessment of your range of movement. For this reason, please come to your appointment wearing leggings, jogging bottoms, shorts or similar, vest top or other underwear that you would not be embarrassed to stand in while your therapist looks at you! For all other therapies please wear something you feel comfortable in, not tight around the waist and easy to remove if you’re coming for massage.
For reflexology you will be asked to take your shoes and socks off. Your feet will be washed and you will be made comfortable in a semi-upright position on the massage table for your session.
For Indian head massage or facials, you will remove enough clothing from your top half to allow the therapist to work on your shoulders and neck. This means that you could keep a bra or vest top on if you wish, but if you prefer to remove all upper body clothing, you can opt to keep your chest covered by a blanket or towel while your therapist works on your neck and shoulders.
For all other therapies, you will be asked to remove clothing from the areas the therapist will be working on. The therapist will leave the room while you undress and will knock before coming back in. During treatment you will be covered with sheets and blankets, and only the areas being worked on will be uncovered. Your dignity and privacy will always be respected.
Your therapist will refuse all requests to treat clients who wish to be naked and your session may be terminated if it appears to the therapist that you have a sexual motivation.
Our services are purely therapeutic. All requests for sexual services will be refused and any inappropriate behaviour reported.
Your data is stored securely and kept in accordance with our GDPR policy, which is available on request. More information will be given to you during your consultation.
